Role Responsibility
As a Stylist, you will help implement and interpret the Selfridges creative vision through the styling of customers within Personal Shopping. You will continually strive to improve not only the quality of experience, but also the productivity and efficiency within the department. This role requires a person with a good mix of organisational skills and attention to detail while also having thorough brand knowledge and a strong Creative eye. You will understand and maintain best practices, not only to achieve very high standards of styling and imagery but also to maintain an extraordinary customer experience.
As a Stylist, you will:
- Maintain and encourage a positive ‘can do’ atmosphere which is conducive to high production levels and excellent quality of work
- Flexibility and strong ‘all-rounder’ qualities preferable.
- Obtain a wide variety of styling techniques across all types of wear, including but not limited to, fitting and technical knowledge.
- Attention to detail is crucial when styling customers, maintaining a consistently high quality of imagery is essential.
- Deal with client enquiries in a polite, professional and timely manner.
- Actively listen to client’s brief and take notes.
- Ask relevant questions to establish specific requirements.
- Adapt to client’s style and recommend appropriate brands and looks.
- Prepare a thoroughly curated collection edit.
- Inspire and boost client’s confidence and guide client through decision making.
- Excellent brand and competitor knowledge across Women's and menswear, ranging from High Street to Super Brands, and everything in between.
- Draw inspiration from a variety of fashion media to influence styling ideas, helping the Selfridges experience remain fresh and forward thinking.
- To maintain understanding of trends and utilise this knowledge on a daily basis to execute intelligent and informed looks.
- Maintain key relationships with your customer to ensure brands are represented correctly for optimum customer experience.
- Making sure any products are handled with care throughout
- Work efficiently and develop cross departmental relationships.

The Ideal Candidate
This role requires a person with excellent brand knowledge and a very strong creative visual focus, as well as possessing strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in Styling in a customer centric environment
- Good communication skills and able to give and take direction
- Strong fashion and brand/competitor knowledge
- Tailoring knowledge and technical capability is essential
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisation skills, with a pro-active ‘can do’ attitude
