Head of Digital Technology
Role Responsibility
The Head of Digital Technology reports directly to the CIO and working very closely with the Customer and Digital Director, Director of Customer Experience, and Heads of Product for Digital domain
Directly accountable for the engineering, planning, leadership, and direction of the technology capabilities that will support the delivery of Selfridge’s digital & CX strategy, including data and insight for customer and wider business enterprise strategies.
Build an end-to-end agile, Digital Technology Delivery function that facilitates regular, repeatable and reliable change across the digital platforms, in line with the Digital & CX Product Roadmap
Define and implement an agile product development lifecycle that facilitates the Digital Change function
Working in close partnership with the Heads of Product within the Digital domain to validate backlog item feasibility, value and usability; as well as design and iterate a reliable system to drive the most valuable change possible for our customers and our business
Collaborate with and influence peers in the Tech Team to own overall solution design and implementation in line with the Product Roadmap, including technical foundations that underpin our digital ambitions
Collaborate with Tech peers to Design & Build a 24/7 Digital Operations function, integrated with the IT Service Desk, which appropriately supports the international nature of the digital business
Have an in-depth knowledge of enterprise software engineering tools, practices and processes to enable repeatable and reliable change
Be a recognised leader in the field of digital technology within the Retail sector

How you’ll do it…you will be:
A proven track record of driving transformational innovation to business processes, services and systems for complex organisations through the effective use of digital, data and technology
Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage, engage and collaborate with a wide range of complex stakeholders, building a shared and compelling vision
An excellent leader of people who improves capability, builds a diverse and inclusive team and exhibits an engaging and adaptable style that connects with people at all levels
Experience of using data to encourage innovation and track benefits
Proven experience of delivering high quality, customer focussed services in a complex and changing environment, providing effective scrutiny and demonstrating a practical approach to problem solving
Experience of being part of a Digital and / or IT Leadership Team, helping define strategy and seeing that through to delivery
