Role Responsibility
We are looking for a Creative Content Creator with photography, videography and video editing skills to work within Selfridges’ Creative function capturing store content for emails and website. This role is for someone who can bring real energy to capturing content that brings the brand into a destination and cultural hub. The candidate will need to thrive working in a fast-paced environment shooting as well as editing content to accurately reflect the brand across our digital and in-store channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capturing atmospheric still images across our stores highlighting reasons to visit, from events to pop-ups across all categories such as fashion, food, accessories, home and beauty
- Capturing engaging video in store and outside for Selfridges’ social channels, emails and website.
- Editing and retouching stills and video content
- Confident setting up photographic, lighting, video equipment and audio solutions.
- Experience shooting with Cannon R5 desirable but not a prerequisite
- Working closely with the Creative and Marketing teams to respond as well as inform content capture briefs.
- Confident to carry out the necessary research and preparation for a shoot and undertaking general administrative duties as and when required. Whilst able to manage their own schedule and shoot logistics, contacting teams for the events, organising travel etc.
- Required to be reactive to social trends and proactive in bringing forward ideas across stills and video
The Ideal Candidate
Skills and Experience:
- Experience capturing original stills and video content, ideally within an events, interiors, arts and fashion environment
- Strong visual skills. Ability to think visually and socially about what will entice audiences to engage with content and provide consistent new ideas and concepts
- Great knowledge of Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, sound content judgement, and an understanding of the types of content that resonates with audiences on each platform
- Willingness and ability to use data to inform decisions
- Experience using digital analytics platforms, project management and video/photography editing tools
- Advanced skills in all Adobe software, Premier and Capture one
- Ability to work to deadlines, react quickly to requests that need fast turnaround times that require honed organisational and time management skills
- Retouch skills and working knowledge of best practices for optimising imagery for online use
Ideal Candidate:
- A photography or film degree
- The role requires travel to and from our stores across the UK
- A collaborative nature, team-player, and comfortable giving and receiving feedback
- A creative problem solver who is ready to trouble shoot and anticipate issues before they arise on location shooting
- Ready to adapt to an ever-changing environment and industry
- A curious, courageous and careful approach to your work
