Workforce Planning Manager (Maternity Cover)

Role Responsibility
Please note this position is a 12 month fixed term contract maternity cover.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Define and continually refine the workforce planning process ensuring that customer and team member experience is at the forefront of decisions
Creation & management of Workforce Planning Team
- Create the Strategy for workforce planning in Selfridges
- Comfortable with giving honest and regular feedback around new ways of working
- Develop individuals through effective feedback and coaching, both ad hoc and through formal processes such as P&D reviews
- Coach our teams to think differently about our ways of working and make operational excellence the norm
- Provide inspirational leadership for the team, setting clear direction and providing feedback and support to enable great performance
- Consistently role model the Selfridges values; smile and connect with team members and customers, promote face to face time and two way communication, say thank you and recognise achievements and reach out and learn from others
Production of workforce plans
- Collaborate with the Retail Operations team to produce workforce plans, create labour standards by department, carry out headcount demand planning, manage vacancy requisition approvals and plan for peak
Identify and solve workforce related business issues
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies around ways of working and influences stakeholders where necessary
- Carry out analysis of operational performance
- Consult on proposed changes to operations, e.g. new spaces, new product/concepts
Ownership and management of Workforce Management (WFM) system (Reflexis)
- Manage the creation, maintenance and continued development of system configuration
- Ensure business appropriate reporting is produced by the WFM Team
- Management of updates within core WFM systems
The Ideal Candidate
- Coaching and team management
- Project management including stakeholder management
- Experience of partnering/consulting with operations teams
- Development of workforce plans (head count planning, scheduling)
- Experienced in the use of scheduling tools
- Commercially astute and customer focused
- Good communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decision making
- Resilient, able to work effectively under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met
- Advanced Excel analytical & modelling skills
- Flexible and open to change
