Windows Set Design Manager

Job Introduction

The Windows Set Design Manager is a newly created role within the Windows team, reporting to the Windows Lead, working closely with the Creative Vision Team to develop visual concepts and deliver windows specific set design. 

This role is responsible for creating groundbreaking sets that make up Selfridges iconic windows whilst successfully following the concept brief by working closely with the Creative Vision Team and Windows Lead. Maintaining cultural awareness to ensure designs are industry leading and aligned with current trends.

The role works closely with the Senior Windows Visualiser to create world class visuals from sketches and moodboards that clearly communicate the set design for both creative sign off and production, delivering the objective of creating ‘world building’ set designs. 

As Windows Set Design Manager, your key responsibilities will be  – 

• Take the Initial Concept Brief from the Creative Vision Team to develop the concepts and storytelling for the windows.

• Develop hand sketches, rough compositions and visuals to show how the design will manifest across the window run. 

• Collaborate and brief the senior windows visualiser to produce excellent 3D visuals to present internally.

• Presents window concepts in an inspiring way with a clear and simple message to the windows lead and wider business.

• Has a strong design background in spatial design. 

• Collaborate with the Windows Production and Styling and Prop teams to ensure the accurate execution of designs, considering technical and logistical aspects during development.

As the Windows Design Manager, you will: 

• Design the windows for London, Manchester and Birmingham based on concepts briefed by the creative vision team.
• Collaborates with the windows team to guide production and styling.
• Manages design & production of graphics and artwork for windows alongside the graphics team 
• Works closely with key stakeholders in the creative teams to steer projects
• Works with the Windows Lead to plan out design phases on Monday.com
• Provides detailed creative briefs for the Production team to plan installation
• Works closely with senior windows visualiser to produce excellent 3D visuals
• Constantly researches key design trends for current and future seasons
• Works with brands and artists on collaborative window projects 

Qualifications/Training

• Graphic Design / Interior design / Set Design
• Retail Window Design Experience
• Hand Sketching 
• Trend research 
• Fashion knowledge

• Experience in a similar role
• Technical Skills 
  • Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-design
  • Mac literate
  • Microsoft Excel
