Role Responsibility
As our new Windows Design Manager, you’ll work on the concept and design of all London windows and work closely with the VM team to develop instore schemes and installations in our Oxford Street store. As part of this, you will:
Design windows for London based on seasonal concepts briefed by the Creative Direction team. You’ll be creating graphics and artwork for the windows, working closely with the Senior Lead to develop cutting edge designs in line with the scheme.
Brief the Creative Projects Visualiser to create computer renderings of sketches to present at steering meetings for wider business sign offs.
Produce mood boards, sketches and renders to communicate to the rest of the windows team.
Constantly keep up to date with key design trends for current and future seasons through research – a great chance to indulge in your creative senses! – and shopping the competition to ensure that Selfridges is always one step ahead of the game.
Develop strong working relationships across the business, living our values and motivating your team to achieve their goals.
Be an expert in your field where you’ll shop the competition to make sure that Selfridges is the number one destination for visual impact, as well as keeping up-to-date with current trends and communicating these to the wider team.
You’ll be reporting into the Senior Lead - Windows as well as working closely with and overseeing the work of a Windows Designer and Windows Design Assistants.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be a creative through-and-through with a background in visual merchandising, visual arts, set design and graphics (just a few specifics!)
You’ll be a whizz in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Capability in 3D computer graphics would be of real benefit to you in this role.
You’ll have had some form of design training whether that’s been in graphic design, fine art, illustration or interiors and, above all else, you’ll have a deep interest in fashion with a love for researching creative trends.
You’ll inspire a positive, pacey working attitude among your fellow team members, as well as being a fantastic communicator, no matter who you’re talking to.
You’ll be a natural problem solver and a good listener who approaches everything with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
You’ll also be flexible about working hours…those window displays aren’t built in a day!
