Window Stylist

Role Responsibility

As our new Windows Stylist, you will support the Assistant Styling Manager in delivering cutting edge styling for the Selfridges windows. As part of this, you will: 

• Work closely with the Assistant Styling Manager and Styling Manager to develop and deliver styling concepts based around each creative scheme we launch throughout the year. 

• Research and source fashion, lifestyle and cultural trends as well as shop the competition and attend major exhibitions to make sure Selfridges are one step ahead of the game in windows.  

• Play a pivotal role in delivering each scheme smoothly, making sure the installation and execution of each window goes to plan. Some of this will involve out of hours work as most of our installations happen overnight! 

•  Be an expert in your field where you’ll shop the competition to make sure that Selfridges is the number one destination for visual impact, as well as keeping up-to-date with current trends and communicating these to the wider team.  

• Maintain the back of house area, ensuring it’s consistently tidy, organised and well-stocked.  

• Work with fellow team members to maintain high security throughout the stock on loan process, from adhering to stock logging procedures to keeping stock secure in the BOH areas at all times.  

You’ll be reporting into the Styling Manager, with day to day management by the Assistant Styling Manager. You’ll also work closely internally with the rest of the Windows department. 

The Ideal Candidate

• You’ll have previous experience in styling either within windows, VM or photography, so you’ll be used to prop/mannequin handling and conducting creative research.  

• You’ll have a keen interest in both fashion and home as well as knowledge of garments and fit.  

• You’ll have amazing attention to detail where you’ll ensure standards in the windows are always immaculate. 

• You know when to listen and take in information but equally you know when to speak up and voice your opinion – it’s all about balance right! 

• You’ll inspire a positive, pacey working attitude among your fellow team members, as well as being a fantastic communicator, no matter who you’re talking to.  

• You’ll be a natural problem solver and a good listener who approaches everything with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude. 

• You’ll also be flexible about working hours…those window displays aren’t built in a day!
