Visual Projects Coordinator

Job Introduction

Job Purpose:

A key role within the Visual Projects team that plays a vital part of the creative driving force within the physical space at Selfridges.  Working closely with the Visual Projects team and the wider Design teams in the business the Visual Projects Coordinator will plan, produce and install exceptional project delivery across all stores which assists in promoting our brand positioning and vision and purpose to provide our customers with extraordinary experiences. 

 Job Scope: 

We are looking for an experienced project coordinator who will consistently drive and maintain world-class standards. With a hand’s on approach and flexible management style we are looking for a person that has the following skills:

 

  • The ability to manage assorted projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Managing relationships with internal teams, brands, contractors & suppliers
  • Effective & efficient communication with line manager on current focus, priorities and current workload.
  • Role models company values and principles  

Key Responsibilities

 People

  • Leads by example – promotes and sets standards which meet our values and guiding principles.   
  • Seek to continually raise the benchmark and improve standards through ongoing development, coaching and performance management of themselves 
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, e.g. absences, time and attendance and holidays, etc.
  • Works collaboratively and proactively with various teams

Service

  • Have a good understanding of new production techniques and materials to ensure we are always pushing the boundaries and communicating this to the wider creative community
  • Supports the Visual Projects team on all expenditure, including, expenses, invoices, purchase orders.  Maintaining all trackers for schemes and projects.
  • Working on the practical realisation of projects, delivering a material board for all schemes that is rolled out across all Creative departments for consistency.
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve all elements of build & achieving a high level of finish on all projects
  • Working out of hours where necessary to ensure smooth delivery of installations
  • Consider both the internal and external customer in all activities.

Product

 

  • Works with line manager to identify areas to be developed, propose ideas and costs to do so
  • Being well informed through research on all exciting and ground-breaking art installations and events that use ‘spectacle’ and immersive experience effectively.

Environment

  • Ensure Visual Projects prop room and tool kits are organised to raise efficiency and effectiveness.  
  • Manages and maintains the Property Design material library
  • Looks for and introduces ways to improve efficiency
  • Adheres to H & S standards, policies and procedures

Profit

  • Contributing to the upkeep of trackers for Visual Projects 
  • Ensuring the Purchase Order & tracker system is adhered to for all orders
  • Manage invoice sign off & any discrepancies in ordering process

Key Skills:       

  • Great planning, time management, prioritising and organisational skills 
  • Ability to work as an individual and part of a team
  • Creative understanding & ability to translate this into practical solutions
  • Good communication skills and the ability to connect with different levels of the business
  • Skills required – AutoCAD / Vectorworks, Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign.
  • Support project planning by creating layouts and capacity plans in cad. 
  • Management of offsite storage
