Role Responsibility
Purpose of role: |
We are looking for a passionate, analytical, creative and inquisitive user experience researcher to join our growing in house UX team. You will design and execute a range of exciting research projects/studies that will continually provide valuable and actionable insights to our omnichannel business. |
Within 1 month
- Introduction to the team, our process, and the Selfridges brand
- Get familiar with the research, design and product philosophies
- Collaborate with design and product squads to plan your first projects
Within 6 months
- Help the wider team understand user needs
- Be confident planning your own research projects with appropriate participants
- Work on a range of projects supporting different squads across our product teams
- Use evidence drawn from data and research analysis to represent the user in product and design discussions
- Engage stakeholders from across the business at all stages of the research process
- Be confident playing back your research insights
- Contribute to our iterative design process with continuous research
- Understand and support the delivery of the product team strategy
- Become familiar with tools that will help you understand our customers’ behaviour
- Define and work towards your personal development plan
Within 12 months
- Deep understanding of both the Selfridges brand & the product team’s overall strategy
- Help shape and evolve our user research processes and best practice
- Lead projects from start to finish, managing stakeholders’ expectations & delivering to timelines
- Comfortable working in an agile environment and able to adapt to shifting delivery timelines and priorities
- Proactively troubleshoot UX issues on our digital platforms, & support in defining where they sit with the wider strategic objectives
- Have had a major impact in developing the Selfridges digital product offering
- Champion the Selfridges values & deliver against these as part of both your long & short term projects
The Ideal Candidate
- A strong understanding of how research fits into the product design and user centred design processes
- Experience of using mixed research methods to generate actionable insights
- Knowledge of user research methods and how to apply them in practice
- Ability to synthesise and analyse raw data from a range of sources to tell compelling stories
