Social Media Assistant

Role Responsibility

As our Social Media Assistant, you will support the Social Media Coordinator and Social Media Editor in the implementation of the day to day running of the Social Media accounts, assisting with scheduling, image cropping, shoot preparation and weekly shoot days, as well as various office admin tasks. We will also require assistance creating Instagram stories content for key in-store activations. In return you will learn the ropes within an exciting, fast paced social media team for an innovative retail environment. You will attend shoots and work with an amazing roster of brands assisting the creation of thumb stopping social-first imagery and video, acting as the gatekeeper to our weekly calendar and partaking in the coverage our wide-breadth of Selfridges events.

As part of this, you will:

• Own daily scheduling of Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
• Become the gatekeeper for our demanding weekly calendar, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders regarding key opportunities and stories, and adapting to last minute changes and fast-turn arounds
• Assist with copy creation and hashtag strategy
• Write engaging, witty captions for our content
• Create Instagram stories content
• Raise invoices and track budget spend
• Help collate samples for shoot days
• Assist on shoots for Fashion and Beauty
• Research social innovation and compiling own brand performance competitor analysis
• Assist in the layout of presentations  
• Ensure all our trackers are up-to-date

The Ideal Candidate

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working within a social media team or retail environment
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Experience running social media/blog or vlog channels desirable 

SKILLS

• Excellent attention to detail
• Keen interest in Social Media and understanding of core marketing principles
• Great Photography skills
• Photoshop skills highly desirable
• Highly organized with a can-do attitude and the ability to adapt in fast paced situations
• Good communication skills
• Photoshop and Excel skills
• iMovie editing skills are a plus
• A love of language and great attention to detail
