Job Introduction

Seasonal Hosts

  • You’ll get to be a part of the Selfridges Christmas Magic and join our teams at our busiest time of year! 
  • You will be required to work weekends and be available for at least 2 out of the following key days; Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Years Day

We’re looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Hosts help us elevate the experience across our store, ensuring every customer feels welcomed, valued, and inspired from the moment they step through our doors.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • As a Host you will be responsible for providing the first point of contact to customers arriving to the division you have been assigned to.
  • To engage clearly, confidently and professionally with all customers, team members and managers
  • To go over and above to exceed customer expectations at every opportunity, taking the initiative to provide additional services when appropriate.
  • Ensuring everyone is welcomed by sharing your product knowledge, services on offer, best sellers, popular gifting, and upcoming sales over the Christmas period
  • As Host it is important to be visible so that customers can interact from the very moment they arrive to your area 
  • Throughout the day you will be engaging with customers and being curious, sharing upcoming events and experiences happening that day / week
  • You will also be driving & supporting customer sign ups to the Selfridges membership proposition (Selfridges Unlocked)
  • Provide feedback from customers to the wider team to ensure to celebrate success and recognise opportunities 
  • Ensuring the department looks and feels welcoming to customers 

 

What you will need:

  • Great communicator. You will be able to positively engage with all types of customers (domestic and international) with varying needs and requirements.
  • Well Informed. You will develop excellent product knowledge & store services
  • Known to be a service expert. You’ll use these skills to deliver the extraordinary and take the initiative to provide additional services here appropriate.
  • Problem solving skills. You’ll go above and beyond to resolve issues for our customers and be able to adapt your approach to each individual customer.
  • Flexible. Adaptable to business needs, you are happy and comfortable to take ownership for tasks that may go beyond the role expectation.
