Role Responsibility
As SEO Manager, you will own and drive forward the content and on-page SEO strategy to deliver against our SEO KPIs.
Sitting within the SEO Team and reporting to the Head of SEO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the visibility and commercial growth of selfridges.com.
This will involve working with multiple stakeholders to define and deliver the roadmap, including our SEO agency and wider business teams such as Editorial, Content, Trade and Digital Optimisation.
Key responsibilities
The SEO Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Ownership of the content and on-page SEO work stream, working closely with our SEO agency to define content and keyword strategy
- Building of the roadmap and managing its implementation, working closely with wider teams to deliver priority initiatives
- Maintenance of Selfridges existing content, initiative backlog and keyword tracking tools
- Ownership, creation and maintenance of the content training plan, including coordination of delivery by the team
- Building relationships with internal teams to align on joint projects and to remain informed and consulted on activity that may impact SEO
- Act as SEO champion to build awareness of our function and activity
- Regular reporting on the performance of the work stream against SEO KPIs, as well as collation and sharing of user insights and SEO success stories
- Continual improvement to process, documentation and ways of working
- Remain up to date on SEO industry updates, guidelines, and technologies to maintain best practice across your work stream
The Ideal Candidate
- You will have a well-rounded knowledge of SEO best practice and have specialised in content/on-page SEO
- You can demonstrate hands on experience in defining and implementing SEO strategies, with a successful track record of meeting targets and objectives on large-scale, international, e-commerce websites
- You have managed multiple workflows, including large-scale content production projects and testing initiatives
- Experience working with multiple teams and communicating with stakeholders at various levels
- Experience working with industry leading SEO, data and project management tools such as Botify, Pi Datametrics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Data Studio, Jira and Trello
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex problems and solutions in layman’s terms
- You are approachable and collaborative; a team player who enjoys building strong working relationships
- Strategically minded, self-motivated and results driven, with a genuine passion and enthusiasm for SEO
- Confident working with large data sets and an advanced user of Excel
- Highly analytical and experienced in using data to inform strategy and prioritisation – confident in forecasting and building business cases
- You have a positive mindset, with a ‘can do’ attitude and are solutions oriented
- Organised with excellent time management skills, enabling you to work across various workstreams and manage multiple deadlines
- Highly numerate and commercially aware; you love digging into data and uncovering the story behind actual and forecast performance
