Role Responsibility

The Selfridges Photostudio is a dynamic and fast paced department focused on producing high quality imagery and content for the world’s best luxury department store. It produces e-commerce imagery for 140,000 products a year on Selfridges.com through its in-house studio and brand assets. 

We are looking for a Post Production Manager who will oversee the day to day running of the in-house retouching team, managing a high volume e-commerce imagery workflow from multiple sources and occasional creative assets for wider digital platforms within digital KPIs.  Proven people management and large scale resourcing experience is required with a strong eye for detail.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a strong focus for high quality imagery relatable for today’s cultural space, good luxury fashion knowledge and strong people management skills to develop and engage a large team of in-house retouchers. Our ideal candidate would be highly skilled at high end fashion retouching, e-commerce imagery and post producing to role model and develop the team’s technical and post producing skills. Proven large scale resourcing experience is required with a strong eye for detail.

Key responsibilities

  • Leadership role to continuously evolve a high standard of retouching in today’s cultural climate across product imagery and creative assets produced in-house. This includes evolving and cascading retouching styles guides regularly that are current and reflective of today’s customer.
  • Strong people manager who is empathetic yet firm to lead, engage and unite a large diverse team of retouch managers and retouchers to perform at their maximum potential
  • Oversee a slick and consistent post-production workflow from multiple image sources, constantly looking for opportunities to optimise processes and output
  • Strong technical skills
  • Act as a key collaborator between multiple stakeholders to deliver retouching briefs and overall BAU in accordance to evolving customer needs

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 10 years experience as a high end retoucher and post producer across ecommerce and creative studios
  • At least 5 years experience managing a large post production team with sound knowledge of video editing
  • Role model for living company values
  • Excellent Photoshop CC and asset management software skills
  • Experience using Adobe Scene 7
  • Strong communicator to build relationships within the Retouch team, wider Photostudio department and wider business stakeholders to advocate and represent the work the retouch team produces
  • Strong time management skills
  • Forward thinker
  • Ability to oversee multiple product launches and post-production projects from start to finish, delegating appropriately to the supporting management team but with enough visibility to ensure risks meeting deadlines are mitigated.
  • Confident and calm under pressure
  • Good understanding of the overall Photostudio Operation including photography and styling processes to ensure alignment and collaboration across related teams
  • Experience using Spin Me workflow software highly desirable, but not essential
