Role Responsibility

As a Recruitment Consultant, you will lead in the development of strategic, targeted and consistent attraction and selection processes to deliver recruitment needs across our London and Birmingham store locations. Managing focused attraction campaigns and working proactively on searches to ensure we identify the best passive talent.

As a Selfridges Recruitment Consultant you will:

  • Drive best practice and consistent processes across the business to ensure an outstanding candidate experience e.g. role briefings, selection tools ensuring a fair and consistent selection process founded on measurable metrics
  • Play a lead role in the delivery and roll out of our new selection process for retail
  • Establish and maintain both internal and external relationships and particularly to own the relationship with the Store Leadership teams in Oxford Street and Birmingham
  • Support all recruitment related business activity particularly by using search techniques to allow us to identify and talent pool hard to reach talent in competitor organisations so that we are in a position of readiness when the need to hire arises, Owning a long term strategy for your specific business areas
  • Promote and contribute to the Selfridges Employer Brand. Working in partnership with the Employer Brand and Attraction Manager to utilise all channels available to us to attract talent
  • Champion internal development, exploring ways in which we can support the professional growth of team members and continue to raise awareness of internal opportunities
  • Maintain flexibility to travel as required between the London and Birmingham sites and take the time to understand the competitor landscape in retail, service and hospitality
  • Analyse application and all other recruitment related data to identify trends and share insights across the business
  • Partner with HR to ensure approaches are streamlined and information is shared throughout the recruitment process Own the candidate experience, ensuring a smooth process, with consistent communication and an orderly hand over of the candidate to their manager, L&D and HR once they join the business. Ensuring correct right to work and other necessary documentation is obtained
  • Create excellent working relationships with the team and wider business to ensure a deep understanding of the business strategy, direction and performance

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced in the management of the end to end recruitment process for both volume and specific recruitment areas. Including experience in designing recruitment tools such as role and interview guides and competency-based interviewing
  • Highly knowledgeable of candidate attraction methods and specifically of market research and ideally headhunting, particularly within a fast paced, evolving retail environment
  • Commercially astute and externally aware. You are up to date on the retail market and talent within it, sharing knowledge with colleagues across the business
  • Knowledgeable of ATS systems (Workday advantageous). As well as comfortable analysing data, extracting insights and making recommendations
  • Collaborative. You are able to build and maintain relationships quickly. Comfortable working across various functions to deliver results and able influence at all levels
  • A great communicator. In addition to excellent written and verbal communication, you have strong presentation skills, with the ability to create engaging and relevant content to the audience
  • Organised and proactive. You have excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills. Able to multi-task while managing a broad set of requirements on a strict deadline, as well as confident and comfortable in making quick decisions
