Role Responsibility
As a Product Technical Specialist (Size & Fit), you will be working hands-on with garments and accessories coming through the Photostudio, writing accurate and informative product attributes to help build the Selfridges reputation as an authoritative fashion destination. Sitting in the Product Technical Specialist Team which makes up part of the Content Team, you will play a key role in delivering our product offering to our online customer and be integral to the smooth running of a fast-paced ecommerce studio environment.
•You will be required to work independently and quickly to capture, upload and format technical product information for womenswear and menswear fashion and accessories, from high-street to high-end. You will manage your own workload to meet strict deadlines while liaising daily with multiple teams on product workflow and brand information.
Responsibilities:
•Write up to 90 technical product descriptions a day for womenswear, menswear and accessories products (including size and fit information, fabric composition and care information)
•Write in accordance with the Selfridges style guides, consistently and accurately formatting details and proof-reading your own work
•Work closely with the Copywriters on product workflow, communicating updates and reacting to change requests
•Liaise daily with Styling and Photography teams on product workflow and priorities
•Conduct daily site walks for fashion products to maintain quality, consistency and accuracy
•Liaise daily with the Product Lifecycle and Buying teams on product attributes and brand information/requirements
•Manage your own time, prioritising your workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment
•Keep abreast of seasonal fashion trends and maintain good brand knowledge
•Work collaboratively with the rest of the Content team to continuously optimise and improve our product descriptions
The Ideal Candidate
Desired experience:
•Experience in an ecommerce/studio/fashion environment
•A background in fashion/textiles/garment construction and/or copywriting
•Experience with content management systems
•Desired skills:
•Excellent English language and grammar skills
•Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
•Ability to work at pace to a very high standard, managing workload to strict deadlines
•Strong brand awareness and a good knowledge of fashion trends and garment terminology
•Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to problem solve and be reactive and adaptable
•Knowledge of SEO
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong working relationships and thrive working as a team
•PC literate in Outlook and Microsoft Word
•Skilled in Excel
