Role Responsibility

Product Manager is a demanding position, you need to understand the vision of a product from the point of view of customer, end user or stakeholders.

Reporting into the Senior Product Manager and working closely with the business and the tech teams, you will create and elaborate comprehensible user stories which can be effectively prioritized, estimated and developed.

You will work closely with stakeholders within Selfridges’ retail stores and digital development teams to drive improvements in technology that will support enhancements to the customer experience.

 

As a Stores Product Manager, you will:

  • Understand business goals and prepare high level business cases.
  • Help create and maintain the Product backlog, ensuring there are always enough well defined and prioritised stories for development.
  • Write user stories, working with the business and tech teams to ensure the correct requirements and details are captured.
  • Work with the tech teams to ensure wider dependencies and implications of changes are understood, building a clear understanding of our technical architecture.
  • Work with business teams to ensure that technology effectively supports the requirements of end users and customers
  • Ensure all backlog items are clearly described, giving the team and stakeholders a clear understanding of the MVP.
  • Define appropriate functional and regression test cases, ensuring that any risks associated to a change are understood and thoroughly tested.
  • Have a clear understanding of business goals and requirements, and how deliverables can be measured against the team’s KPIs and OKRs
  • Identify high level requirements and categorise them under process or development changes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with your key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Digital Analytics team to make sure that all user feedback and analysis are incorporated within the user experience of the site.
  • Work with our UX team ensure the continuity of design and user experience
  • Look out for market trends and get feedback from stakeholders or customers.
  • Be the ‘go to’ person within your squad for all queries and questions about your product.
  • Be spontaneous and come up with ideas and suggestions to improve the entire process into a more structured format.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Project/product development experience, a thorough understanding of the complete product lifecycle.
  • Comfortable translating the challenges of end users into language that is useful to both business and technical colleagues.
  • An ability to understand processes and the technology that support them across a wide range of business functions.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Experience in performing strategic and technical analysis
  • Experience working with cross functional team.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing high level business cases.
  • Experience in writing clear user stories and requirements.
  • Confident working in an agile environment
  • Highly organised, motivated and able to work well as part of a close team.
  • Articulate and confident communicator across all business levels.
  • Experience in writing clear and succinct user stories.
  • Confident in adjusting scope to meet business deadlines.
  • A technical knowledge of web applications would be desirable but not essential.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and to tight deadlines.
  • A passion for problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Experience working with Tools/applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Teams, Power BI etc. will be an added advantage.
