Role Responsibility

As part of the team responsible for Selfridges PR, you will make sure that our products are always well represented in the right publications and digital platforms.  

Based in the London office, as a PR Assistant, you’ll help to ensure our Press Office runs smoothly. This is a largely administrative yet dynamic role that involves everything from answering general press queries and managing sample send-outs to drafting product press releases and placing coverage. You’ll facilitate sample requests and liaise with journalists and influencers daily - all with the overall aim of gaining maximum coverage for the Fashion & Beauty categories and sharing our unique Selfridges stories. Alongside this, you will be on hand to support and contribute at press events, and you’ll be able to build strong relationships with teams across the business.  

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a close-knit team who are incredibly passionate about driving positive PR results for Selfridges, demonstrating our vision and purpose externally.  

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY 

You will have some experience in PR (either employed or as a work placement) and enjoy working in a busy and often hectic environment. You’ll be extremely organised with great time management skills and you’ll have a fantastic way with people. Above all however you’ll have a genuine passion for, and a keen interest keen Fashion and Beauty PR categories: Fashion (Menswear, Womenswear, and Accessories), and Beauty (Make Up, Fragrance and wellbeing. Alongside this, you will 

• Support Press team with product sample call ins and images requests for categories Fashion and Beauty 

• Create product led newsletters and drive product placement coverage  

• Monitor Selfridges Fashion and Beauty press coverage and generate coverage reports 

• Provide support to the Press team on events including seasonal press days; brand activations and launches 

• Manage press database and monitor Fashion and Beauty opportunities 

• Stay ahead of latest industry trends and take every opportunity to expand your knowledge 

The Ideal Candidate

• Solid work experience in PR, ideally within lifestyle categories 

• Ambitious, hardworking and an impeccable work ethic 

• Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail 

• Ability to meet tight deadlines 

• Able to multitask and take direction from all team members 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
