Paralegal Apprenticeship

Job Introduction

Are you looking for a new challenge that gives you the chance to move into a career in the Legal profession?  Looking for a company that wants to help further your career, as well as provide you with an exciting, inspiring and fun place to work?

If the answer to all of these questions is ‘yes’ then you’re just the kind of person we’re looking for!

Role Responsibility

Selfridges is currently offering an individual the chance to join their Legal Team on a two-year Paralegal apprenticeship scheme. You will work four days a week as a paralegal supporting the Selfridges’ Legal team with admin and legal work, and you will spend one day a week working towards a Paralegal Level 3 Apprenticeship and a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education at BPP University.

Subject to business need, the role has the potential to extend to a Solicitor apprenticeship following successful completion of the Paralegal apprenticeship, therefore this is an excellent opportunity for an individual who would like to pursue a career in law without attending university full-time.

As the only Paralegal in the team, you will be required to assist other team members with a wide range of legal and administrative work where required.

The role will include:

  • Reviewing contracts and other legal documents
  • Helping to update and maintain the concession database
  • Document management including scanning and indexing
  • Template management
  • Legal research
  • Assisting other areas of the business with legal queries
  • Attending departmental training sessions

The role will be predominantly based at Selfridges' Head Office, which is a modern, accessible building. Candidates will need to be available to work during normal business hours (9am – 5.30pm) four days a week and will be required to attend classes at BPP in London one day a week (exact day and site to be confirmed).
