Role Responsibility

As a Security Operations Centre Analyst, you will be the main point of contact throughout the day, working with two other team members within the Security department and collaboratively working with the contracted guarding team.

 

Key Purposes:

 

Monitor and analyse suspicious or criminal activity, through CCTV

 

Support the co-ordination of store security teams, in creating a safe and secure environment.

 

Monitor intruder detection systems and alarm activations and respond accordingly.

 

Monitor fire and life safety systems and alarm activations and respond accordingly.

 

Monitor Building Management Systems and alarm activations and respond accordingly.

 

Maintain and inspect all equipment used within the SOC, such as CCTV, intruder alarms and access control points.

 

Work with Store Loss Prevention teams to investigate internal and external crime and stock loss.

 

Intercept incident escalation calls and escalate as appropriate.

 

Monitor the security, safety and well-being of all team members, suppliers, visitors, and customers through monitoring of CCTV.

 

Work collaboratively with the day team, to ensure the operation is prepared by yourself, with a focus on creating analytic briefings, case files and any other data which can be used to pro-actively target crime within the store.

 

Ensure standards and measurements for the SOC, are met, with a priority focus on customer service engagement with all persons who communicate with the Security Operations Centre.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • An understanding of compliance with all associated statutory regulations and legislation

 

  • Day to day CCTV monitoring.

 

  • Day to day fire systems monitoring.

 

  • Day to day intruder alarm monitoring.

 

  • Day to day building services monitoring.

 

  • Incident reporting and escalation.

 

  • Working with Loss Prevention & Security Management.

 

  • Carry out analysis of security related incidents, where required

The Ideal Candidate

Person Specification:

  • An individual, who is enthusiastic and motivated
  • Some experience in Security procedures in a retail environment.
  • Experience and understanding of Security procedures and protocols
  • Good general IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Be willing to work throughout the night, on a 4 on, 4 off rotation

 

This role guide represents a summary of the main areas of activity for the role, however all team members at Selfridges are expected to be flexible in the work they carry out, which may change from time to time, according to the needs of the business.
