Role Responsibility
Purpose of role: |

Within month 1
- Introduction to the team, our process, the Selfridges brand, and our design philosophy
- Collaborate with various product squads on your first projects, & begin planning future ones
Within 6 months
- Work on underlying features that will directly affect the Selfridges customer
- Produce sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, & user flows etc.
- Present designs for review and iterate through rounds of feedback
- Optimise your work through user testing, user & stakeholder feedback, & exploration
- Understand & support delivery of the product team strategy
- Flesh out and begin to work towards your personal development plan
- Help refine our overall visual aesthetic
Within 12 months
- A deep understanding of both the Selfridges brand & the product team’s overall strategy
- Lead a project from start to finish, managing stakeholders’ expectations & delivering to timelines
- Proactively troubleshoot UX issues on our digital platforms, & support in defining where they sit with the wider strategic objectives
- Have had a major impact in developing the Selfridges digital product offering
- Champion the Selfridges values & deliver against these as part of both your long & short term projects
The Ideal Candidate
- A passion for design, with a strong understanding of relevant best practices, principles, and methodologies
- Experience working on user centred design, & knowledge of omni-channel sales approach
- Able to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders while advocating for best in class design
- Comfortable leading design end-to-end, from ideation through to development
- Proficient in modern digital design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Axure etc.
- A strong understanding of user research & testing approaches
- Confidence in planning & prioritising your own workload
- A collaborative mindset, able to deliver your own projects whilst also being a great team player supporting wider initiatives
- Adaptable & quick learner that enjoys tackling a large variety of problems
- Strong communication skills & confidence presenting your work to both the UX team and wider business
- Natural curiosity with a desire for constant learning & improvement
