Mid-Weight Photographer (Fashion & Still Life)

Role Responsibility
Selfridges is looking for a talented and experienced Mid-Weight Photographer to join its fast-paced, high-energy Photo studio department. Comprised of various teams including Styling, Art Direction, Content, Retouch, HMU & Production, you will be working collaboratively with highly creative individuals helping to produce inspiring and accurate content that gives our customers an extraordinary digital experience whilst ensuring daily targets are achieved. Reporting into the Photography Manager, you will be helping to drive a highly creative vision, implement the ecommerce strategy and maintain the highest quality photographic content. You will work closely with the wider Photo-studio management team and our brand partners to align creative goals and ensure consistency as well as helping to drive forward the vision for our digital platforms.
As a Mid-Weight Photographer you will:
- Be responsible for helping drive the Selfridges creative vision. Spending time each day on set shooting RTW men’s & women’s e-commerce fashion imagery & collaborating with the onset Art Director, Stylist and Digi op & HMU.
- Shooting Castings.
- Edit images which have been captured on set, looking at image selecting, crop and ensure it adheres to our guides.
- Attend meetings, participating and sharing ideas & concepts. Cascading information to the team in weekly meetings.
- Look to improve and implement workflow process to further aid the Photography team.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Direction & Styling Management team with the aim of improving workflow practices.
- Facilitate business initiatives by working with the wider creative team by shooting Christmas hampers & non seasonal hampers throughout the year.
- Working on pre-shooting RTW and still life in showrooms overseas.
- Build relationships with the Retouching team, establishing new workflow practices, aligning process along the way.
- Continue to drive team moral, supporting a culture that stimulates creatives to display their true potential.
- Build on and forge new relationships within the wider business.
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for a highly creative individual that has prior industry experience in e-commerce and fashion & still life editorial.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, directing the models in accordance with a brief.
- Confident in articulating creative briefs to team members and stakeholders.
- Have an invested interest in photography and fashion industry.
- Strong brand awareness & competitor knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of leading a team, by having clear communication skills, and being confident in providing feedback.
- Strong brand awareness with luxury brands.
- Quick decision making in a highly reactive environment, employing a ‘can do’ attitude and having the willingness to always go extra mile.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritising workloads and working well under pressure. Keeping a calm head at all times
- Proficiency in photographic processes, understanding industry standard software packages which include Capture One, Zerene Stacker, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail whilst working in a past paced e-commerce studio.
- Experienced. You will have previous experience leading a team within a luxury fashion ecommerce environment is essential as you will also be responsible for facilitating requests from the wider business. It is essential to have experience in creative still life photography & editorial fashion.
- You must be a team player and a good leader with the ability to work well in a pressured environment. With your industry experience you will bring to the table new ways of working, helping drive the creative vision forwards.
