Role Responsibility

As a Marketing Manager you will play a leading role developing and delivering our customer centric marketing strategy. You will be responsible for driving and cultivating brand partnership project innovation, marketing planning and stakeholder collaboration all while promoting Selfridges and our competitive service offer.

This role optimizes, oversees and contributes to the department’s financial targets and budget while guiding and growing cross-functional team support.

You will need extensive knowledge of marketing strategies with the ability to identify new business leads, pivoting to opportunities as they occur. As an outstanding marketing manager your expertise must demonstrate and translate into increased brand awareness and profitability.

-Team orientated, collaborative, open, transparent and comfortable with ambiguity. A good people leader, experienced in managing and developing direct reports while navigating the organisation.​

-Passionate about fashion and retail  with a good understanding of brands​, specific knowledge of the luxury brand landscape and premium segments​ advantageous.

-Strong strategic marketing and communications planning skills, ideally gained within retail experience working directly with brands within the premium/luxury sector​

-Expert in the full marketing mix and cross functionally – ability to plan and execute campaigns across both traditional and digital media, utilising an integrated combination of social, CRM, paid search, affiliate and influencer channels, digital display media, paid and programmatic media, digital and physical events and animations.

-Customer centric approach to setting objectives and measurables, experienced measuring and delivering marketing plans against customer KPIs. Passionate about customer acquisition and retention and deep understanding of customers​​

-Confident and self-motivated – ability to take responsibility and accountability of process to support the realisation of brand partner activations. Strong in execution and delivery orientation - planning, manage and adapt multiple projects at the same time.​

-Excel & PowerPoint proficiency – Have a creative flair to put together engaging and premium packages for partners​.

-Excellent in numeracy and analytical skills, ability to dissect large amounts of data and information into concise recommendations and action plans.​ Legal experience beneficial but not essential.

-Demonstrates and lives the Selfridges brand values.

The Ideal Candidate

-Manage the Brand Partnerships and Marketing activity for key divisions with a focus on Fashion and Accessories, covering men's, women's and children’s including RTW, Handbags, SLG & shoes supporting other categories as needed​

-Provide leadership, motivation and guidance in the day-to-day activities and outputs of the wider Steer, build strategic relationships and partnerships across our brand partner portfolio ​

-Support the Customer Planning function to set a flexible and validated customer centric annual marketing calendar for RTW & Accessories that spans all marketing channels digital and physical.​

-Proactively drive new partnerships, media opportunities and validate channel mix across all activity in line with customer led goals and objectives. - pivoting priorities when necessary.

-Work cross- collaboratively externally while internally networking, liaise with the wider business stakeholders including; B&M, Press, Performance Marketing, Digital Trade, CRM, Affiliates, Social Media, Events, Real Estate, Creatives,  external Media Agencies and sustainability,

-Drive new customer acquisition to stores and online through engaging activations that are aligned to commercial objectives and Selfridges brand propositions. ​Work in close partnership with channel teams to plan 360 Marketing activity across all owned, earned and paid media.  Ensure we are working with the right channel mix to key target audiences, matching and optimising marketing revenue opportunities whilst supporting Selfridges led initiatives.​

-Prepare regular reporting for key business stakeholders​. Work with Planning and insights teams to provide validated data foundation for our marketing briefs and clear customer targeting strategies; advocate clear, rationalised and measurable objectives with KPIs ​

-Ensure timely completion of deadlines. Provide motivation and guidance in driving mutual accountability for successful delivery of FY Marketing Revenue Targets via a customer-centric lens​.

-Continually research, review and share changes to the market/business landscape, consumer trends and activities of competitors, (including any compelling marketing activations); pivoting, adjusting and developing our marketing plans as necessary ​
