Lead Business Analyst - Sourcing and Supply Chain
Role Responsibility
The Lead Business Analyst - Sourcing and Supply Chain assists senior stakeholders to refine, plan and communicate their business strategy and roadmap in terms of business outcomes and business capabilities. The role works closely with the Head of Product, Head of Tech, and Enterprise Architect for the given domain to define, shape and support the delivery of solutions through business process and technology change, and is accountable for Business Analysis best practice within the domain.
As Lead Business Analyst - Sourcing and Supply Chain, you will:
•Lead the analysis of the existing business architecture (people, process, technology and information) to comprehensively understand the current business capabilities and processes, identify efficiencies and make recommendations for delivering tangible benefit as part of all new initiatives.
•Plan and estimate the business analysis activities from business idea through to business implementation and ensure this is accurately reflected in all plans. This includes stakeholder analysis and mapping.
•Lead the evolution and application of the Business Analysis standards within the domain, including Requirements Engineering, Business Process Modelling, Business Information Modelling and Business Solution Design. This includes ensuring that the BA repository is well organised, up to date and actively referenced.
•Lead the elicitation, analysis and engineering of business requirements, collaborating closely with the Product team and business stakeholders. This includes functional and non-functional requirements (e.g. performance, availability, usability and regulatory or legislative compliance).
•Lead the business solution design activity (agnostic of technology), working closely with the Product team and broader tech team (including Architecture, Quality, Engineering and Service). This includes the effective use of modelling, prototyping, consultation, documentation and presentation.
•Actively participate in the definition of Quality strategies and planning, and provide support for testing, business training and implementation.
•Lead the Business Analysis team within the domain, including objective setting, performance management and career development.
The Ideal Candidate
How you’ll do it…you will be:
Experienced. A strong background in leading fast paced, structured business analysis in large projects and in product-orientated environments. This includes the coaching and performance management of internal and external resources. Experience of working in an Omnichannel retailer is very desirable.
Technical. Expert skills in business requirements elicitation and engineering, business process analysis and engineering, and business solution design and assurance. Excellent understanding of a range of business analysis methods, this includes DSDM, user story elaboration and grooming, business process modelling (BPMN), UML (use case models and activity diagrams). Strong experience in using requirements management tools (e.g. Jira and Confluence).
Passionate and knowledgeable about Business Analysis and industry best practice. A champion for modern business analysis, lean and design thinking, and quality delivery processes (e.g behavioural driven development).
A natural leader and dynamic team player. You have the ability to manage, influence and coach direct reports, peers and external stakeholders in an engaging and collaborative manner. This includes providing positive and inspiring development feedback when appropriate.
Consensus driving and highly organised. You will have the proven ability to bring together cross functional stakeholders (internal and external) and drive decision making, align on outcomes and approaches, and embed effectively into the delivery of technology solutions.
An excellent communicator and storyteller, both verbal and written. You excel in the relationships you build with stakeholders and are adept at flexing your style to match the audience. You engage and inspire both technical teams and business stakeholders (at different levels of the organisation).
Strategic. You effectively balance the long-term vision and goals with the need to embrace opportunities and drive value swiftly.
