Inventory Specialist (Secondment)
Job Introduction
As an Inventory Specialist, you will measure and monitor, detect, prevent and investigate company losses, maximizing business profitability, and ensuring Company policies and procedures are followed. You will ensure each audit is performed and managed effectively and the business has a clear understanding of the results achieved. The Inventory Specialist role encompasses all store based activities and includes auditing stock, process error, inventory queries and other operational store audits as and when required to drive an efficient and accurate stock file.
As an Inventory Specialist you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that each audit is performed and controlled effectively
- Plan, organise and supervise store stocktakes alongside carrying out pre audit meetings with retail operations to ensure the stocktakes are well executed
- Investigate the quantity and value differences found on all audits, particularly on stocktake
- Provide analysis of physical stockholding against the book quantities held on the retek merchandising system
- Produce clear succinct working documentation to support the audit procedures performed and findings noted
- Work closely with Retail Operations, Stock Operations, the Buyers and Merchandisers and the Loss Prevention teams
- Monitor and audit all processes and procedures that affect stock accuracy
- Ensure the stock file reflects accurately the stock being delivered into the store
- Manage the correction of the stock file for sales dumped to a product department including identifying the SKU reference number and transferring the sale to the appropriate SKU.
- Challenge the integrity of stock file adjustment requests and ensuring stocktake adjustments are fully supported with evidence
- Communicate and report accurate information to the business including: stock audit results, weekly adjustments, refund reports and dump sales
- Support the red-alert process and agreeing actions to address audit outcomes
- Conduct follow-up audits to ensure actions take place and change occurs
