Role Responsibility

  • Support the development of and implement the IT Procurement category strategy in line with the overall Procurement Strategy, Facilitating the formulation of a Procurement Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help transform Procurement across all areas of GNFR
  • Aid in the delivery of agreed IT Procurement strategies and targets
  • Apply procurement policies and system strategies for IT during tendering, contracts management, spend analytics and supplier performance management.
  • Identification and realisation and reporting of cost-saving and waste-reduction opportunities, including managing demand to identify cost actions
  • Managing their IT Procurement category workload to deliver an effective service to the business
  • Ensure that the IT purchasing requirements and contract management solutions which they are responsible are managed in a clear concise manner, to clearly demonstrate the financial and operational benefits for the business
  • Conduct/support negotiations and implement appropriate tactics to achieve favourable outcomes
  • Responsible for conducting and leading regular reviews of the IT spend categories that they manage through benchmarking, rationalisation and aggregation opportunities
  • Supporting the management of budgets for Selfridges Procurement
  • To provide procurement advice for Selfridges as may be required

Team Support

  • Support and promote Procurement team to ensure delivery of effective service
  • Encourage and motivate team members to 'work as one' on procurement activity, to deliver a seamless service to internal customers
  • Ensuring adherence of departmental and company procurement procedures and policies
  • Effectively manage the relationship with the IT Finance team on budgets, cost saving, consumption and spend reduction targets/reports

The Ideal Candidate

Experience

  • Proven track record of delivery in IT Purchasing in retail or a similar fast paced service environment. IT experience to cover all aspects of IT categories, including software, hardware, IT services, Consulatncy development and telecommunications
  • Effective supplier performance manager
  • Senior level negotiator of IT contracts with project management experience
  • Proven success of purchasing for internal customers

Technical Skills

  • Essential deep knowledge of Microsoft MS Excel and other MS Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint)
  • Creating and managing tenders and requests for service
  • Able to create appropriate commercial models to suit requirements for all IT categories
  • Good base level for drafting of contracts, deeper understanding of IT Contracts of all types
  • Negotiation, stakeholder and vendor management
