Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager – Digital & Customer, this Finance Manager role will be a pivotal business partner to the Customer Experience and Digital Technology teams, leading business insight that drive investment decisions, with a spotlight on digital transformation of web core platform. Investments totalling c£100m over 5 years. This role will also lead the provision of high-quality commercial support, working alongside Customer Engagement leadership team to develop and deliver our Clientelling and VIP strategies along with supporting the Creative team.

The post holder will support the preparation of funding requests for a wide range of digital initiatives to enhance our customer experience both online and in-store. They will be able to demonstrate an understanding of sound financial acumen to ensure digital profitability from our investments and lead on analysing and reporting on key performance metrics for the digital business.

As a Finance Manager you will:​

  • Partner with the business functions across our stores and head office to provide effective challenge and support across cost and revenue performance.
  • Support decision making via the provision of clear and detailed financial analysis on financial performance including recommendations and insights.​
  • Proactively develop solutions to and confident in challenging business thinking.​
  • Participate in ad hoc projects where required providing sound financial analysis and clear decision-making support​
  • Work with business partners to deliver challenging but achievable financial targets.​
  • Produce clear and concise of budget detail to be presented to senior management.​
  • Support in the identification and delivery of systems and process automation efficiencies that provide cost effective solutions and improve customer service.​
  • Develop a direct report, to have a curious and inquisitive mindset as well as instilling a strong focus on quality and correctness. ​

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified Accountant (preferably CIMA or equivalent).​
  • Experience working with Product leads and Project squads is desirable.
  • Budgeting/accounting experience.
  • Able to take accountability for their own development plan as well as coach and guide direct reports with theirs. ​
  • Able to understand and articulate both financial and non-financial implications of business performance providing balanced and clear recommendations. ​
  • Either a strong retail background or experience working within a fast paced, commercial environment.​
  • Able to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met.​
  • Able to effectively manage team planning and prioritising workload up to 6 months in advance​
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support business decision making.​
  • Analytical and excel modelling skills with strong attention to detail.​
  • Highly organised & Commercially aware and customer focused.​
  • Verbal and written presentation skills with ability to adapt style based on audience​
