Role Responsibility

As Fashion Coordinator you will assist the department in the creation of key fashion and style messaging for the Selfridges Fashion Direction team, through organisational, administrative and junior creative tasks for photoshoots, and additional editorial outcomes . You will assist in the understanding and maintenance of the departments best workflow practices for the aforementioned fashion & style messaging, with a key concern for enabling efficiencies and high standards ​

As Fashion Coordinator you will:​

  • Assist with sample request processes with Selfridges stocked brands, including chase and tracking, despatch to e-comm studio for capture, and timely return ​

  • Lead product pull and return processes from shop floor during photoshoot production period,​

  • Maintain fashion direction styling area, including kit, equipment and basics / underpinnings wardrobe on both a daily and seasonal basis ​

  • Ensure stock and sample loans are handled with extreme care on set, and returned in the same condition they arrived, ​

  • Attend shoots in an assistant capacity, managing sample, stock and fashion equipment logistics leading up to the shoot day, as well as post-shoot through liaison with production and in a junior creative capacity, where lower level styling tasks are required​

  • Assist the senior fashion editor with creative imagery, including the filing of research for seasonal creative packs and department mood boards​

  • Assist in the communication and implementation of Selfridges signature styling codes / core approaches​

  • Assisting in the tracking of cross-department fashion and style discussions with editorial, buying, trade and merchandise to help maintain efficiencies​

  • Assisting in regular communication and meetings between Fashion Direction and E-comm teams​

  • Responsible for overseeing the use of freelance & in-house fashion assistants​

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced. You will have experience as a fashion assistant for high tier editorial and commercial outcomes across both menswear and womenswear and experience at lower level first hand styling​

  • Knowledgeable. You will have an understanding of e-commerce specific styling processes to help improve cross-department cohesiveness between fashion direction and e-comm teams ​

  • A Selfridges expert. You will have a strong understanding of Selfridges customer base spectrum, and various sensibilities and strong knowledge of Selfridges buy brands across both menswear and womenswear and wider style areas, from super brands to high-street, and everything in-between ​

  • Organised and proactive. You are able to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail​

  • Positive with a pro-active ‘can do’ attitude. Taking initiative when needed and also able to take direction well from the wider team​

  • Calm within busy environment. You are able to prioritise, having good time management and are adaptive, with the ability to multi-task effectively​

  • Passionate and creative. You will a strong creative eye with a passion for broader fashion and style messaging within the wider industry, including it’s cultural and historical significance and an appreciation for the importance of sustainably produced product ​
