Role Responsibility

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

This is a 6 month, fixed term contract. Responsible for developing and delivering an events programme for fashion (areas to be confirmed) which meets the business objectives. Fashion Events Co-ordinator to be accountable for Manchester Exchange events, and supporting the Regional store events when required.

Events may vary from reader events, customer selling days, and personal appearances by designers or celebrities, fashion shows in Personal Shopping to general area promotions.

This wide role requires the job holder to work closely with Buying and Merchandising teams in order to create an integrated, focused events plan for fashion that is operationally viable and achieves maximum impact. It is therefore a role that requires great understanding of the Selfridges fashion brands and the desired customer experience.

  • Meet with buyers on a regular basis to ascertain key business initiatives which require marketing support. This will include new season launches, new products and new brands.
  • Accompany Fashion Events Manager (as above) to meetings with key brands on a seasonal basis, in order to develop an events calendar which supports Selfridges’ and the brands’ business objectives.
  • Work on securing brand sponsorship for selected key events (e.g. goody bag contents for fashion shows) and for media initiatives (e.g. reader events). Liaise with other sectors, such as food, to secure brand sponsorship for events (e.g. champagne).
  • Develop new concepts/ideas for Selfridges’ fashion events when appropriate.
  • Brief and communicate the fashion events programme to all relevant parties, including Retail Operations, Security, Health & Safety and Marketing (e.g. graphic design, PR, advertising, electronic marketing) to ensure all initiatives are communicated, delivered and completed.
  • Partner with Retail Operations and all appropriate personnel to ensure all events are executed to Selfridges’ high standards.
  • Track all supporting marketing collateral to ensure timely delivery and on budget.
  • Ensure that line manager is updated at all times on the events programme and that all Directors and Heads of Departments are aware of all key fashion events.
  • To work on ad hoc projects and committees as required.
