Role Responsibility

As our new Digital Analyst, you’ll take on a pivotal role to analyse our digital sales channels to deliver actionable insights and drive decision making. As part of this, you will: 

  • Be an expert at data storytelling, ensuring people can easily consume the wealth of valuable data we have available. 

  • Document, trend and monitor the site funnels to identify areas of opportunity and focus. 

  • Analyse Exit Pages to understand where and why customers are leaving Selfridges.com and make recommendations to prevent this. 

  • Create and maintain customised reporting according to the needs of your internal stakeholders to highlight overall site metrics & KPIs.   

  • Translate business questions and requirements into engaging and digestible analysis. You’ll need to be able to wear several different hats; customer, channel, operational and commercial. 

  • Work with the Senior Digital Analytics Manager to create a data-driven culture, educate stakeholders and ensure data is both accessible and engaging. You will drive and champion the use of data within the wider business and be the ‘go to’ person to share your knowledge on analytics business-wide.  

  • Work with the wider Analytics Team to ensure we’re setup for success and can answer the most important business questions. For example, working with the Implementation Analyst to ensure our tagging is set up correctly.  

  • Work with the IT development team to ensure all reporting is supported and maintained. 

You’ll be reporting into the Senior Digital Analytics Manager, as well as working closely internally with Digital, Finance, CRM and IT.  

The Ideal Candidate

  • You’ll have plenty of hands-on digital analytics experience from previous roles with knowledge of site analytics tools (Google Analytics or IBM Digital Analytics (Coremetrics) would be a real advantage!)  

  • You’ll possess a great understanding of commercial decision making and feel confident in making them to drive sales. 

  • You’ll also know about Databases and SQL queries, HTML and using Excel at an advanced level to manipulate data. 

  • You’ll have technical experience of analytical tracking, website tagging and creating intricate funnels  

  • This is a role with constant deadline pressure, so you’ll be comfortable with that, and you’ll know how to deal with multiple projects across several teams in a calm yet effective way.  

  • You’ll also be a great communicator and good with words to help tell your data stories as effectively as possible.  

  • You’ll have a high level of personal energy to drive projects and inspire the team around you to sustain productivity.
