Job Introduction

Working at Selfridges a true leader in Luxury Retail experiences, within the busy Multimedia Creative (MMC) team we are seeking a Design Manager who oozes creative flair and vision. Supporting the Senior Design Manager for Scheme and Event creative, the successful applicant with assist in delivering highly effective, multi-channel creative for all of Selfridges' (seasonal and non seasonal) creative touch points.

Role Responsibility

A key KPI is to ensure creative consistency, across all Selfridges channels.

The succesfull candidate will help build on the (already very strong) Selfridges reputation of creating innovative, highly compelling scheme and event experiences.

This mangement role will require an iduvidual that can lead and inspire across the MMC team and wider Selfridges community. They will have the relevant motivational skillset to lead and inspire a direct report, enabling them to achive their ambitions and meet their objectives.

The sucessfull applicant will be used to managing a busy workload, in a fast paced creative environment and will be confident in delivering projects to tight deadlines, set by the MMC team of producers.

Working with the SDM they will effectively implement and deliver the vision outlined by the Director of Multimedia Creative in making creative that is joined up across both in store and digital platforms.

A key requirement, to be successful in the role, is the ability to take a brief from initial concept, right through to artwork, install and launch. So having the necessary skillset and  experience to deliver is a critical part to this role.

 

As a manager the winning applicant will be a self starter, able to work autonomously and instinctively knowing when to push back or escalate where needed.
Working from a new ‘flexible’ office environment, crisp time management skills and an ability to effectively prioritise workload is essential, as is the ability to meet project deadlines, set by the MMC production team.

 

Working with and presenting to internal clients to get the necessary ‘buy in’ should be a current part of the successful candidates working life. At all times, the successful applicant will work closely with the MMC Production team to ensure the creative response to the brief is effective, works within budget and is produced on time.

A solid understanding of the print production process is a must, as the breadth of work produced includes: Advertising, instore printed collateral (to support calendar events and campaigns such as Valentines Day, Mothers day etc…), packaging, brochures, manuals, internal publications and brand identity work. In addition to this, a proven working knowledge of digital design applications and the methodologies are required, to support the work as it appears to our digital customer base, helping to offer our customers an immersive experience, no matter if in store or online. An added bonus would be relevant, demonstrable experience in art directing photographic shoots, where appropriate.

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Technical Skills

Adobe CS

Advanced knowledge of print/production process.

Good working knowledge of digital design

Photo shoot art direction skillset
