Role Responsibility

Job Purpose:

 

The creation of the Innovation Hub at Selfridges forms part of our strategic initiatives for 2022 and is a fundamental element of our Customer Strategy in the long term. The Innovation Hub has been set up to act as a start-up within Selfridges in order to define our future circular state and test and learn new exciting initiatives that will get us there.

 

You will be part of a wider team who is defining the broader Selfridges circular retail strategy, their remit will also include (but not be limited to):

 

  • Exploring, setting up and managing enabling partners and CX solutions to scale up “Resellfridges” and Rental
  • Discovering outer edge circularity solutions and ways to decouple growth from use of natural resources
  • Building valuable learnings to inform the longer-term business plan and route to profitability

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be directly accountable for the delivery of circular initiatives across our Reselfridges proposition (rental, re-sale, repair and refill)
  • You’ll be working closely with the Innovation Hub lead to develop the CX roadmap, aligned to key business goals, to achieve the desired and intended customer experience
  • Collaborate and partner with wider Selfridges teams to implement and embed solutions across the organisation
  • Uses customer insight and competitor and market analysis to help shape decision making
  • Put the customer (and internal user) at the heart of everything you do, prioritising effectively using data and insights to drive decisions

The Ideal Candidate

  • You have been part of a team helping define strategy, project management through to delivery.
  • Attuned to both the Selfridges brand, its competitors, and the wider retail landscape
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Data driven. With experience of using data to encourage innovation and track benefits
  • A great communicator. You have outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage, engage and collaborate with a wide range of complex stakeholders, building a shared and compelling vision
  • Customer focused. With a background in delivering high quality, customer focussed services in a complex and changing environment, providing effective scrutiny and demonstrating a practical approach to problem solving
  • Evidence of creative and innovative thinking that can be translated into potential products capabilities
  • Good technical, commercial, and strategic understanding.
  • Senior Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to challenge normal operations
  • It would be advantageous but not essential if you had previous experience in planning, leading, and directing the delivery of a Resell / Rental Platform, including delivering the technology capabilities that supported this
