Brand Press Officer

Job Introduction

Role Purpose: As a main point of contact to media for the Brand and Christmas team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all brand campaigns, as well as proactive and reactive corporate, international and regional PR across all categories.

 

You’ll liaise with editors and influencers on a daily basis - with the overall aim of gaining maximum press and social coverage for our Brand team and Christmas campaign.

 

You will oversee the management of the PR Assistant and regional PR agencies in Manchester and Birmingham.

 

Alongside this, you will be on hand to support and contribute at press events – especially the Christmas Press Show, and you’ll be able to build strong relationships with all areas of the business.

Role Responsibility

KEY SKILLS AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support the in-house Christmas and Brand team with all day-to-day press activity
  • Management of PR Assistant
  • Support in management of regional PR agencies
  • Formulating press releases for campaigns, seasonal dates and new launches
  • Proactive pitching of key stories to relevant press to drive regular high quality coverage
  • Daily screening of press for coverage and creating press reports as required
  • General administration and housekeeping of relevant files and folders
  • Project manage influencer activities and gifting
  • Maintain a keen awareness on competitor activity and industry info/ trends to report to stakeholders
  • Work with business stakeholders and brand partners to establish key stories
  • Pitch innovative ideas to the PR Manager and Senior PR Manager for PR stories, and influencer activations
  • Supporting the wider Press team on events when possible and required

 

The Ideal Candidate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

·         Minimum 4 years’ experience in PR (agency preferred but strong in house candidates welcome). Retail environment experience an advantage.

·         Have strong existing relationships with press and influencers (international contacts would be a plus)

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail

·         Ambitious, hardworking and an impeccable work ethic

·         Ability to meet tight deadlines

·         Able to multitask and take direction from all team members
