Job Introduction

Are you looking for an Allocator role to kick off your career in Merchandising? Are you searching for a role to complement your love for numbers and analytical skills? Looking for a company that wants to help further your career in Merchandising as well as provide you with an exciting, inspiring and fun place to work?

If the answer to all of these questions is ‘yes’ then you’re just the kind of person we’re looking for!

Role Responsibility

As our new Allocator, you’ll ensure that the correct stock is in the right place at the right time to maximise sales and improve the flow of stock through the business. As part of this, you will:

  • Analyse reports and allocate stock to stores for our departments.

  • Maintain our model stock levels, transfer stock between stores, update markdowns on our pricing system and provide sales and stock information to our suppliers.

  • Get to assist the Buying and Merchandising team with weekly, seasonal and ad-hoc analysis, working very closely with the retail operations teams.

  • Know the department through-and-through, making sure you’re always knowledgeable on concession performance, the best/worst sellers and keeping an eye on our competitors’ activity.

  • Monitor sales across all our stores and recommend store transfers to maintain optimum stock levels within each store.

You’ll be reporting into the Assistant Merchandiser as well as working closely internally with Merchandising, Buying, Retail Operations, Marketing and Visual Merchandising.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You’ll be a numbers person who is analytical, with a keen eye for detail and a well-organised approach (you’ll be no stranger to a list or two!)

  • You’ll be incredibly proactive, with plenty of initiative and eagerness to just get stuff done.

  • You’ll have bags of enthusiasm and always be up for a challenge when it’s presented to you.

  • If you’re a good problem solver with strong IT skills such as Excel, you could soon be working in one of the most inspiring environments in retail.

This job is a brilliant opportunity to start your career in Merchandising as part of a hardworking team who are incredibly passionate about what they do. It doesn’t just stop at Merchandising either - we have lots of opportunities to get involved and collaborate on projects and in communities internally, so no two days will ever be the same. As Harry Gordon Selfridge once said, ‘There’s no fun like work!’
